hi, all

i am dissapointed with the nominations announced by the STAR SCREEN AWARDS,2010.

I AM SURPRISED THAT GROUND BREAKING CONTRIBUTION FOR LYRICS BY PRASOON JOSHI IS MISSING, SONGS LIKE, arziyaan, rehna tuh, dil gira dafatan, masakali, yeh dilli hai merey yaar" COME BY ONCE IN A LIFE TIME IN A COUNTRY LIKE INDIA WHICH HAS A AMAZING LEGACY OF POETRY IN CINEMA.

WE WILL ONLY DISCOURAGE GOOD WRITING AMONG THE FUTURE GENERATION OF WRITERS IF PRESTIGIOUS PLATFORMS LIKE SCREEN CHOOSE TO IGNORE SUCH AN EFFORT, BUT TELL THE AUDIENCES THAT THEIR FAVORITE ALBUM ( D6- IS THE FAST BECOMING THE HIGHEST SELLING ALBUM OF THE DECADE) IS NOT WORTHY OF ITS LYRICS.

ALSO THE TECHNICAL JURY HAS NOT SEEM TO NOTICE, BINOD PRADHAN'S CAMERA WORK, - THE ENTIRE FILM WAS SHOT ON CAMERA'S SUSPENDED ON BUNGEE ROPES, WHERE HE HAD ESPECIALLY INVENTED A DOLLY. - BESIDE THE FACT THAT STUDENTS AND MASTERS OF CINEMATOGRAPHY HAVE APPLAUDED THE EFFORT

SYNC SOUND BY NAKUL KAMTE IS AGAIN MISSING, THE ENTIRE FILM WAS SHOT ON LOCATION AND LIVE/SYNC SOUND- ITS A MIRACLE IN ITSELF.

the nominations D6 has got are

1. BEST ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE (FEMALE) - Divya Dutta
2. BEST MUSIC - A.R. Rahman
3. BEST PLAYBACK SINGER (MALE ) - Mohit Chauhan - Masakali
4. BEST PLAYBACK SINGER ( FEMALE) - Rekha Bhardwaj - Genda phool
5. BEST ART DIRECTION – Samir Chanda -
6. BEST ENSEMBLE CAST - Delhi 6

  1. Dear Rakeysh,
You are one amongst my favorite directors. Welcome to blogging. I liked Aks, RDB and Dilli 6. the film story & the spirit in which that is told very much contemporary.

  2. Sir,
You must not get discouraged by such short change as screen and filmfare.

As in the case of jewellery, (so also in cinema), only a jeweller can tell the true worth of gold.

The jusry here is no jeweller. And nor are the critics that you find on our weekend newspapers.

    Regards,
    Sameer
